Barbed Flushing/Anti Syphon Valves
These valves are normally used with dripper systems and reduce the chance of syphoning when the pump stops.
They work by allowing water to flow from the pump but when the pump stops, air can be sucked into the pipe causing the syphon to stop.
Anti syphon valves are designed to bleed air from the irrigation system's supply tube. It allows water to only flow in one direction, stopping water being siphoned out, causing a potential flood.
To stop a pump from vacuuming or siphoning, fit an air/vacuum relief valve at the very highest point in the irrigation pipeline. When the pump shuts off, the valve opens automatically, breaking the vacuum and preventing the system from drawing in dirt or draining your reservoir.
Ideal Installation Locations
At System High Points: Elevation peaks are where air naturally gets trapped and siphonic action begins; mount the valve vertically here.
After the Pump/Check Valve: Place the valve on the mainline immediately after the pump discharge, on the pump-side of any check valves.
On Drip Zone Headers: For drip systems, install one vacuum relief valve per zone at the highest point of the exhaust or lateral header.
How They Work:
- Open ports: They let air break the vacuum when water stops flowing.
- One-way flow: They block liquid from moving backward into the supply line.
- Proper height: They must sit higher than the connected lines or fixtures to function
- Working pressure 4,0 Atm.
- Closes when pressure is above 0,6 Atm.
- Opens when pressure is below 0,5 Atm
