Product Description
Plasson Ice Resistant Bib Tap
- The Plasson Arctic Ice Resistant Valve range has been designed specically to cope with extreme cold temperatures for outside water systems.
- When there is water in a valve and the temperature drops below 0°C the water turns to ice thus causing an increase in volume. This increase creates a pressure that can break traditional valves.
- The Arctic Ice Resistant valve has been specially designed with an elastic body that is able to absorb the increase in volume caused by icing and then returns to its original geometric and sealing characteristics the moment the temperature rises. This means a greater life cycle.
- Resistant to damage caused by ice forming inside the tting, this is due to its polypropylene copolymer body
- Ball valve is PN16
- Black in colour to resist UV rays without oxidising
- Both types of valve connect via BSP thread
- Sizes available; ½” ¾” and 1”
Outlet size
- 1/2" Tap - 3/4" Outlet
- 3/4" Tap - 1" Outlet
- 1" Tap - 1 1/4" Outlet
- During the test, a closed valve with water inside is left for many hours at -20°C and then warmed to 23°C.
- This is repeated for several cycles to simulate consecutive nights in a winter freeze. After each cycle the valve is checked for correct functioning by testing the seal (water pressure). These tests are carried out on all sizes of the Arctic Ice Valve series.
